Gilliland Gravestones
The cover story for Quarterly Volume 36 Number 3 describes the history of the Gilliland gravestones and resetting in Clements Cemetery.  The photo to the right are the stones after they have been reset.  To see a larger image, click on the photo or caption!
 
The Quarterly also has records of the John Gilliland family.  Karla Gerdes researched the Gilliland family members on the gravestones and wrote about the Champaign County records starting on page 76.  The first record transcribed is pages 292 and 293 of the Champaign County Deed Record Book A.  The deed conveys land from Robert Trickel to John Gilliland.
